Los Lances
This is the beach where the world kite freestyle and speed championships take place.
Los Lances can be dangerous during easterly (Levante) winds, if you go out alone (off shore conditions), but when the westerly winds blow, there are some waves.. small and perfect waves for kiters. Westerly wind is also perfect for beginners.
Valdevaqueros
This is a perfect spot to enjoy light easterly wind (Levante). At the other side of the "Chiringuito" beach bar Valdevaqueros is the best spot with strong Levante.
The Wind
Tarifa has two prevailing winds. The easterly known as the levante, and the westerly known as the poniente. As a general rule, the levante blows day and night and can last for weeks. The poniente is generally colder, brings in more waves, and is strongest in the afternoon.
