Fuerteventura South - Sotavento
Year-round wind stability makes Sotavento one of the best windsurfing spots on the planet!

Mother nature has provided a beautiful white sand beach with crystal-clear turquoise water for miles around the center

Pro Center I is located directly in the Sotavento Wind Funnel. Strong and constant wind, with water conditions from flat up to six foot waves are the features of this World Cup spot.

These top spot features make Pro Center I the perfect spot for freestyler, speed, slalom and kite.

Sotavento
One of the most beautiful beaches is that of Playa de Sotavento at the near by peaceful Costa Calma with it's endless white and golden sands, People flock here for the water sports of wind surfing as the waters are quiet safe and free from rocks.

Risco del Paso
Small waves, getting bigger further away from shore. Big lagoon (Sotavento Lagoon) to the north. Lots of shallow water. Beautiful colored and clear water.Big sandy beach, with lots of space.
NE trade winds which egt excellerated through the mountains. Very strong during summer, gusty. Less strong during winter, when also S, SE winds are possible.
Typs:
- Shallow
- Chop
- Small Wave (< 1m)

Wind
Summer time: northwest wind
Spring and winter: also east and south wind

The windiest time in Fuerte is in the summer when a big high pressure sits over the Atlantic and a low over the Sahara. In sotavento a double acceleration is caused by the trade winds being funnelled through the mountains to create significantly stronger winds than the north.
The swells which bring the best waves are caused by depressions in the Atlantic which are more prevalent in winter.
