1- How do I get there?
Fortaleza Airport (FOR) is just a 45minute drive from Cumbuco village.
2- It is Cumbuco a dangerous town?
We are happy to say that here is lower street crime than a typical city.
3- There aren’t any sharks?
There have been no reported Shark attacks in Ceara state, the ocean floor is sandy and does not support large predators.
4- What do I need to take the course?
You need To Be Relatively fit and healthy, feel comfortable in the water and be able to swim.
5- Do the Calima Packages includes Air Tickets?
None of the Calima Package include ticket.
6- There is Kite Repair?
If you're unlucky and your kite needs a repair when you’re here in Cumbuco then come to the Hi-Life Kitesurf Centre and we will repair it for you. Prices are much lower than Europe and the repairs are of the highest standard.
7- When is the best season?
The best season to enjoy our Camp in Cumbuco, is from june to February, because during march is not much wind and during abril is definitely No wind. And January is to much rain.
9- How is night life?
A tip for the girls! If you fancy a big night (or a few!) in Fortaleza at many of the big clubs then you should know that the locals dress up for the occasion in a big way!
10- Can take a course without accommodation?
Of course you can. If you have never try kitesurfing you can take the 3 days course. If you ar an experienced kitesurfer you can rent the best of the best equipment. If you stay in the centre of Cumbuco you can walk to the beach; the kite centre, supermarkets and restaurants are within 5 minutes walking distance, it really is a small village.
11- Can I rent a car in Cumbuco?
If you're staying slightly outside of Cumbuco or want to visit some of the many other wonderful kitesurf spots around the area a car is the easiest way. A small car (Fiat, or Chevy) will cost from R$55 – R$80 depending on the time of season. Like many countries the car hire guys are not always the easiest of people to deal with, extra charges are notorious so watch out for the “cleaning charges” which are asked for.
